Gioana Lopizzo, a junior at La Costa Canyon High in California, took third in the Division 1 girls senior/invitational 3-mile race in 16:45.3 at the 48th Dana Hills Nike Invitational at Dana Hills High in Dana Point. Lopizzo improved more than a minute from last year's meet to help La Costa Canyon finish fifth overall with 156 points.
